FRIDAY NIGHT FOOTY
In 2018 the Central Coast Junior Rugby Union will be hosting the under 16 & 17 Boys and under 15 & 17 Girls competition on a Friday Night - join up to a club now to register your interest!!
This year we are planning on starting a Girls 7s competition on Friday nights for both u15s and u17s. The format being proposed at the moment will be a tournament style and the objective will be to give the girls as much game time as possible each week and at a couple of different locations across the Central Coast - we also envisage each component will run for a period of 7 to 8 Weeks with a break in the middle.
We have a number of Junior clubs that will be entering teams and we are also very keen to see this competition build and grow throughout the year and into the future - we also see the opportunity for clubs to align with schools and also maybe support or create partnerships.
CCJRU are also keen on growing this tournament and are extending this invitation to schools across the central coast, therefore we are now calling for expressions of interest from those of you that maybe interested entering a team or teams.
We are initially going to run two gala nights at a location TBC, one will be held Friday 06 April and the other Friday 13 April 2018.
Active Kids Program
Thousands of school children across New South Wales are set to benefit from the NSW Government’s ‘Active Kids Rebate’ for sporting and fitness related costs in 2018.
From 31 January 2018, parents will be able to claim up to $100 per school child, per calendar year, as a voucher to reduce the cost of sport registration or membership fees for after-school, weekend and structured fitness or physical activity.
The initiative is aimed at reducing the barriers to participation and helping to change the physical activity behaviours of children and young people in NSW
